HOW TO PLAY WHOSTARTED
WHOSTARTED tests your memory of lineups rather than your ability to recognise an answer from a list. Pick a team and try to rebuild its representative eleven yourself.
Core quizzes can be played without an account. Signing in lets you save progress, XP, history, Challenges, Rhope and multiplayer activity.
1. Choose how you want to play
Start with Daily XI, enter a Challenges campaign, or use Play Your Way to search for a team, season or era you remember best.
- Daily XI — one featured lineup for the day.
- Challenges — campaigns made of sequential levels and star ratings.
- Play Your Way — search and browse the available quiz catalog.
- Multiplayer — challenge formats that let you compare your result with other players.
2. Rebuild the eleven
Type a surname or full player name. Accents are optional. If the answer matches a player in that XI, the corresponding position is revealed.
Wrong guesses do not reduce your score, so you can keep trying. A quiz ends when you complete the XI, choose to finish, or the time allowed by that mode runs out.
3. Use hints when you need them
Quizzes include a hint system. Different levels can reveal information such as the number of letters or parts of a surname and may cost XP. A player revealed through a hint should not count the same as a player recalled unaided.
4. Review your result and keep playing
At the end you can review your score and missed players, share the result and continue into another lineup. Many modes are designed to move directly from one completed XI into the next.
5. Challenges
Challenges are organised into campaigns and sequential levels. Your performance earns stars, completing a level unlocks the next one, and completed levels can be replayed to improve your result.
6. Rhope
Rhope is a football-memory collection connected to activity in the game. Playing earns points and rewards that lead to card reveals. Cards belong to themed albums and can unlock additional stories.
Cards, XP, streaks and other progression items are game features only and have no monetary value.
7. Accounts and fair play
Part of WHOSTARTED works without signing in. An account is used to synchronise progress and features that need a persistent profile. Bots, automated solving, score manipulation and bypassing safeguards are not allowed.
Frequently asked questions
Do I need an account?
No. You can start core quizzes as a guest. An account is used for persistent progress and some social features.
Are these official lineups from one match?
No. WHOSTARTED builds representative XIs for a team and period using historical data, selection logic and review.
What if I spot a mistake?
Use the in-game report option or email contact@whostarted.pl. Player and position reports are reviewed before a change is made.
Can I replay a quiz?
Many quizzes and Challenge levels can be replayed. Daily and multiplayer modes may have their own attempt limits or replay rules.
